FAQ: Does SAGE Promosearch support API/XML

Issue:

Does SAGE have a  development kit for using XML or an API that would allow my web site to access the SAGE database using a custom interface?

Solution:

Yes, we offer our XML DataStream service, which provides direct access to our database using an intuitive XML interface.  See Integrating the SAGE DataStream into your website and our website for more information.

Note that the XML DataStream is a separate service from SAGE Promosearch.  If you are going to build your own site and just need access to our product database, you can use the XML DataStream without purchasing WebStore.  Likewise, if you want a turn-key e-commerce search engine for your site, you shoud use WebStore and you do not need the XML DataStream.  Both WebStore and the XML DataStream require that you have our SAGE Workplace Windows app distributor research tool.
