This article describes the specifications for electronic supplier images for inclusion in the SAGE research tools.

Solution:

Suppliers can add electronic images of their catalog as part of the catalog update process in the SAGE Supplier Center. In order to be used in SAGE, the images need to conform to the following guidelines:

Catalog Page Images:

Specifications:
- JPEG (.jpg) or PNG (.png) files, low compression (high quality)
- One catalog page per image file
- Minimum image size of 1275 x 1650 pixels (8.5"x11" at 150 ppi)
- RGB or CMYK color
- Max physical file size of 10MB per page

Naming:
The catalog page image files should be named in the form ????.jpg, where ???? is a four-digit page number. For example, page 1 would be 0001.jpg, page 2 would be 0002.jpg, etc. The number should correspond to the page number printed on the actual catalog page. Certain pages need to be numbered with special designations as the first digit:

Front page(s) -- F001, F002, ...
Pricing page(s) (pages with just pricing, no product information) -- A001, A002, ...
General information page(s) -- G001, G002, ...
Index page -- I001, I002, ...
Back cover(s) -- B001, B002, ...

For example, if you have a front cover, five regular numbered pages, an index page, and a general information page, your files would be named as follows (if using PNG graphics, use .png as the file extension):

F001.jpg
0001.jpg
0002.jpg
0003.jpg
0004.jpg
0005.jpg
I001.jpg
G001.jpg

If you are using the SAGE Supplier Center to update your catalog yourself, you need to have all of the catalog page images located in one folder on your computer. Then, from the Supplier Profile and Catalog area, choose the Catalog tab and follow the directions.

Product Images:

Specifications:
- JPEG (.jpg) or PNG (.png) files, low compression (high quality)
- One product per image file
- Minimum image size of 600 x 600 pixels (2" x 2" at 300 ppi)
- Recommended image size of 1800 x 1800 pixels (6" x 6" at 300 ppi)
- Images do not have to be square, but should be at least 900 pixels in at least one dimension
- RGB or CMYK color
- Max physical file size of 1MB per file

Naming:
The files should be named with the item number followed by ".jpg" or ".png". For example, item number 1234 would be named 1234.jpg. Keep your product images in a separate folder from your catalog images.

Please provide two images for each product -- one with a random imprint and one with no imprint. The above specifications apply to both. Please keep your product images with random imprints in a separate folder from your product images with no imprint.

If you are using the SAGE Supplier Center to update your catalog, you will upload your images as part of the product update process.
